Butterfly is Gone

Butterfly died at six thirty this morning. She has taught me so many things, and now one more: life is fragile, well-being is fragile, but love is the strongest substance there is.

  1. Ohmy! My heart just sank into my toes. I am so sorry. I am sitting here like an idiot with my mouth hanging open. I just don’t understand. I am so, so, so, so sorry.

  2. It hurts so much, because we love them so much. She will run free though the fields until you meet again at the rainbow bridge. I am so sorry.

  3. I’m so sorry. Losing a pup is like losing a piece of your heart. She was my favorite dog I’ve never met – and that’s saying a lot! My condolences to you and Cricket.

  6. Heartbreaking. I don’t care what anyone says; losing your 4-footed family elicits no less grief than losing any other loved one.

  16. It was hard for me to read this post–very hard because I have felt much of the same pain this year. I lost five of my babies–Velvet, BB, Stretch, Valley Girl, and Honey–within the first 6 months of this year. All but one were over 14 years old when they passed away. Love is an emotion that doesn’t care how many legs its object has. I know you love (not past tense) Butterly. That love will never leave you.
